Who let the nostalgia out?
If you're an Inside Out fan, you caught the reference already. If not, don't worry—you're still invited on this little trip back to the 2000s.
Nostalgia can be anything you've been missing from the past. It can be a book you used to love as a kid, a person you'll always love, or even a place. For Gen Z, I think it's the 2000s rom-coms. Kitten heels, journalist girls, and 2000s fashion trends surround us even in 2026.
My personal favorite character is Andy Anderson: our "How To?" girl.
She was not only trendy and iconic, but she was also interested in politics, human rights, and world events. However, she had to write one last perfect "How To?" article:
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
We all know she met the love of her life by accident while she was working on her How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days piece. Their love story is certainly famous, and who wouldn't want a Ben anyway?
But there is something more about the 2000s journalist girls. They inspired our generation to write, create blogs, and tell stories. From Carrie Bradshaw to Andrea Sachs, they all made us fall in love with the publishing world.
When I finally launched my own website, I realized those fictional journalists had quietly influenced me for years. They made writing look adventurous rather than intimidating. Watching them chase stories made me want a place where I could collect my own thoughts, opinions, and little moments of inspiration.
Maybe that's why these films refuse to disappear. They aren't just romantic comedies anymore—they're reminders that storytelling can change the direction of someone's life. For Andy Anderson, it meant finding her voice. For me, it meant starting a blog of my own.
